Wednesday 11th May - Windsurf *** The Manor, Felixstowe – cloudy with light rain.

Fin – 25.50 knot max, 23.61 knot ave., 11.45 knot hour, 20.74 knot mile (year PB), 51.89 km., 14.41 knot alpha.

F2 282 Ride with Tushingham Vulcan 6m and Thunderbird 6.5m and 36 fin.

Another breezy day sadly it was cloudy with some light rain but with the wind not picking up to around 11 I had time to do my exercises before heading down to Squiz Lane at The Manor. It was definitely strong enough to shortboard so put the F2 Ride 282, 115 lt. on the beach and took a chance with my 6m. After one long run out, I was little under so came back and rigged my 6.5 which was fine for an hour, doing long runs out to Wadegate Post but the sea was horrendously lumpy making going fast challenging at best! Even though it was wind with tide I had no problem staying upwind and with the wind building to around 25 knots I came ashore to swop back to my 6m and had a yummy egg sandwich Mag made yesterday:) I then had over an hour on the 6m trying for some fast mile runs but that really hurt my back leg but still managed a year PB of only 20.74 and got a couple of runs over 25 knots which is as good as I could manage in the lumpy sea. So, an OK session, nice to be out on a shortboard covering 32 miles, some sunshine and a smoother sea would have been nice but this is Felixstowe we are talking about! Have now covered 85 miles on a fin in 3 sessions over the last four days hopefully a day off tomorrow and out again on Friday:)

PS - another good day for my pics with two more in the local paper:)
